Kemp Road Bapist Church, a Reformed Congregation
Leadership

Pastor Steve Woodman

Pastor Steve Woodman

Pastor Steve grew up in Marathon, Ontario, Canada, on the north shore of Lake Superior where his father and mother were missionaries with Hiawatha Baptist Missions (now Continental Baptist Missions). His father planted Marathon Baptist Church and pastored it for twenty years. Pastor Steve attended Spurgeon Baptist Bible College in Mulberry, FL and graduated with a BA in Bible with a Pastoral Studies emphasis. From there he went to Heritage Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY to continue to develop his gifts and graces for the ministry under the oversight of the pastors of this Reformed Baptist congregation. During this nine year period, he taught in their Christian school, preached, and interacted regularly with the elders. In 2001 he was called to his first pastorate at Providence Baptist Church in Sterling/Rock Falls, IL. In God’s providence this church peacefully disbanded in 2004, and Kemp Road Baptist Church called him in the fall of 2005 as the church’s full time pastor. He has been married to Melissa since 1993, and they have four children.

Pastor Tom Danube

Pastor Tom Danube

Although Pastor Tom grew up in an unbelieving home, God saw fit to save him at the age of thirteen. He went into the Air Force out of High School and then on to Cedarville College. He graduated in 1980 with a BA in Political Science. While a student, God challenged him through various professors with the doctrines of grace and the reformation faith. He joined Kemp Road during his senior year. There he met his wife, Cathi, and they were married in 1981. He has served as an elder at the church since the mid '80’s, while being employed full time as a software engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

PastorJohn Raquet

Pastor John Raquet

Pastor John was privileged to grow up in a Christian home, and God was pleased to save him in grade school when he became aware of the gospel and Christ’s claim on his life. He served 14 years in the Air Force, and he earned engineering degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Calgary. He is currently employed full-time as an electrical engineering professor. Throughout his various assignments, he has spiritually benefited greatly from solid teaching and discipleship from a number of churches and individuals. He joined Kemp Road Baptist Church in 1999 after moving to the Dayton area, and he has been an elder of the church since 2004. He is married, and he and his wife Cindy have been blessed with 8 children.

Deacons

Kemp also believes that the New Testament commands that Deacons be a part of the overseers of the flock (1 Tim 3:8-12). We currently have five deacons who oversee the administrative functions of the congregation. They are Brian Pinney, Paul DeHart, David Drye, Nick Stebner, and Park Ashley.
